Semi Final - 30/01/09

Wymondham are through to there first ever 5 pairs final as they beat Banham 44-34 on shots in the semi-final at Watton.P. L King and B. Saunders got Wymondham off to a confident start with an 8-5 win. P. Saunders and S. Phillips picked up two 4's on there way to a good 12-8 win. S. Archer and D. Phillips put real space between the two sides as they won by a comfortable 10 shots to 4. S. Foster and J Li-Rocchi kept things tight against Bill and Shirley Francis as they lost by only two shots going down 7-9. The last game saw M. Fisher and C. Mann lost 7-8.This was yet again a very strong performance from Wymondham, showing that they are improving with every game they play, as Banham at this stage last season beat champs Yaxham to play Connaught "A" in the final. Banham players at the end of the match congratulated Wymondham on how far they have come over the past few season's and wished them well in the final.

Final - 18/03/10

Connaught "A" 43 v Wymondham 26

Wymondham were not helped in preperation for this final as they played at Yaxham the night before and did not get home till late. This was evident as Connnaught ran away with it from the beginning. The leads for Wymondham in the first three games were all short and not giving there skips much help. Especially in the second game were connaught won 14-5 with 4 lots of 3 being dropped in the process. This made the overall score 22-9 which then made Connaught feel combfortable and just saw the game out from there, which they did well.

Overall Connaught deserved the win on the night with some very good performances, with the "two wood" style of play, especially from Christine Musk and Sylvia Parsons in the second game. Wymondham just didn't adapt to the heavy mat quickly enough and fatigue could of played a part but were made to pay beacuse of it.
