With such a poorley run tourney by the ESMBA all teams were clueless on what order of play was and what mats to play on. But luckily Robert Elmore of Doddington had sorted some form of play and proceedings went on.
Wymondham's first opponents were Doddington where they crashed to an 8-1 defeat. The only point came from Chris Mann in the singles where a 10-10 draw was managed against the talented Robert Elmore who picked up a two on the last end to get the draw. The only other discipline that was close was the triples where Brian, Mark and Steve lost 7-8. The young lads Robert and Edward Elmore were in excellent form all day and desreved their 1st place finish.
Stoneyhills were the second opponents and a better result was had with a 7-2 win. Chris Mann in the singles won 9-5, but Chris and Debbie in the pairs again stubbled to a 9-5 defeat. The triples had a good 9-4 win and the fours also had a strong 8-3 win.
Norfolk's friendly rivals Sprowston were Wymondham's final opponents and they got another 7-2 win. In the singles Chris managed to claw his way back into a match that looked over at 2-8 after six ends but Blazer rallied back and picked up a maximum four on end seven to bring him back into it against David Dewing. Blazer's mentality to ditch the jack on the last two ends worked in his favour as two two's were picked up for a great win. The pairs were changed to get a resut with Mark and Chris and this happened in style as a 12-6 win was recorded against Mary and John. The triples were pipped to the post as five shots were conceded in the last three ends for a 6-7 defeat. The fours recorded a solid 11-8 win.
This result leaves Wymondham with another preliminary round somewhere if the ESMBA will ever give us some informaton about it!
